GENERAL ELECTION ENDORSEMENTS 2020
Scott Franklin's recent victory over incumbent Ross Spano signals a new era for the people of District 15. Spano's troubled history of corruption will now pass on to the history books. However, Franklin still heads into November 2020 with a Democratic challenger hellbent on promoting a left-wing agenda in Washington that most constituents find displeasing. As a former Navy pilot and respected community leader, Franklin brings the experience, integrity and perspective needed to get things done in Washington. Franklin's focus on traditional values and the rule of law serve residents well by supporting a pro-American agenda, the primary catalyst behind our endorsement. We look forward to following Franklin's first term in Washington, DC.
Since his first run for the Florida House, The Local News has consistently endorsed Daniel Webster on the basis of his firm Christian faith, strong traditional values and pro-freedom agenda. Webster's humility, honesty and integrity remain unchanged and his dedication to the people of Central Florida remains his utmost priority to this day. We applaud his unwavering devotion to the values which make America exceptional. During his time in Washington, Webster has stood up to the establishment and stood against career politicians in a bid for Speaker of the House. For his stalwart conservatism and loyalty to his constituents, we once again supply our whole-hearted endorsement of Mr. Webster and thank him for his service.
Dr. Leo Valentin's outsider experience beyond politics and academia lend him the perfect resume for the job. However, Congresswoman Stephanie Muphy's financial advantage and special-interest driven stranglehold on the district makes her a tough competitor. Following the defeat of Congressman John Mica in 2016, the district also lost a senior member of Congress capable of bringing in desperately needed funding for infrastructure and transportation projects in the area. In spite of the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and current economic malaise facing the country, the clock is ticking faster toward recovery. We need someone to represent the values of the district for the long term, and rebuild on the basis of pro-business policies. U.S. Representative Stephanie Murphy is not that candidate. Therefore, we strongly endorse Leo Valentin for FL-07.
Vennia Francois will fight an uphill battle against Central Florida's corrupt incumbent Congresswoman Val Demings. However, we feel that the people of district 10 deserve better than the demagoguery of Val Demings. An experienced attorney and graduate of Florida A&M, Vennia has devoted much of her life to public service. Serving under well-known figures such as John Mica, Mel Martinez, Mike Maher and Rick Crotty during his term as Mayor. Following her time in the public sector, Francois migrated to Lockheed Martin as a contract attorney in the Enforcement Division, stamping out financial fraud and abuse. We vehemently oppose the political games played by Francois' opponent and fully endorse her for Congressional District 10, a seat that should be held by someone representing the values of our residents.
